Hiland Mountain Correctional Center can house up to 404 female inmates. It has multiple custody levels and a variety of treatment programs. This facility is comprised of 11 buildings and sits on over 62 acres of land.
Some of the treatment programs provided at Hiland Mountain Correctional Center include an acute or sub-acute mental health service, substance abuse treatment programs, and vocational courses. Many of the offender programs focus on self control and problem solving skills. After completing the 48 week offender treatment program many of the offenders report having much less aggression and a higher self esteem and self image.
The Salvation Army Alaska provides evidence based substance abuse programs in co-ordination with Alaska Department of Corrections.
