Little Sandy Correctional Complex opened in 2005 in Elliot County Kentucky. It can house a total of 1,050 male inmates in two general population units. It is a mixed custody facility housing mostly medium and maximum security offenders, but also contains a minimum unit that can house 100, and a special management unit of 118.
Vocational programs provided at Little Sandy Correctional Complex include carpentry, horticulture, and small engine repair. Residents can receive an adult basic education, receive a GED diploma, and earn various degrees in applied science and arts. Additional Programing includes anger management, staying quit, untangling relationships, substance abuse treatment and work opportunities.
