Miami Correctional Facility is situated on 200 acres of the former Grissom Air Force Base. The Indiana Department of Correction began construction on the facility in 1997. Miami Correctional Facility is a Level 4 high-medium security prison with a capacity to house over 3,100 men in dormitories and cellhouses, along with a Level 1 facility of more than 200 individuals.
