California Institution for Men consists of four separate facilities (A-F), located on over 2,000 acres of land.
Facility A, which houses approximately 1,100 level II inmates, is comprised of eight open dormitory housing units that can house 160 inmates each.
Facility B is a reception center, which houses all levels of inmates as they are processed through. Facility B is broken down into units, some of which house general population offenders.
Facility C is a level II sensitive needs yard, that houses approximately 800 inmates in four interconnected housing units.
Facility D is a Secure Level I comprised of 12 general population housing units. Approximately 1100 inmates are housed here.
Administrative Segregation Unit houses inmates who have presented as a threat to themselves or to others. This unit has the capacity to house 151 offenders.

You must have an approved visitors application on file before you can attend a visit. You must request from the inmate CDCR Form 106. This is the California Visiting Questionnaire form and it must be signed by the inmate before you can fill it out and send it back to the facility at the inmate mailing address and add: "Attention: Visiting".
