Cross City Correctional Institution is a close custody correctional facility located in Dixie County. It has a maximum designed capacity of 1,022 male inmates. The site of this prison was originally an Air Force radar facility, in 1973 it was converted into a prison. In the main unit, inmates are housed in six dormitories.
