Dodge State Prison is a medium security institution that houses adult males. The facility opened in 1983 and has the capacity to house 1,236 inmates. Dodge State Prison is comprised of 19 housing units, each containing two dormitories that can house up to 50 residents. Additionally there are four open bay dormitories Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4, and two dorms F and J that house 12 inmates each. While incarcerated inmates can participate in the correctional industries program building furniture our of wood, and can work performing facility groundskeeping, cooking, barbering, automotive detailing and laundry services. Offenders are provided various types of therapy including sex offender education programming, alcoholics anonymous, substance abuse treatment, a family violence class, and thinking for a change. Educational opportunities include the ability to earn a GED and receive an adult basic education during incarceration.
Georgia Department of Corrections requires all visitors complete a visitors application and be approved before visiting. Start by doing the following:
- All visitors regardless of age must fill out a visitors application.
- You must gather and submit a copy of all the documents required in the application, this includes a valid government issued photo ID.
- The application must be completed, signed and notarized.
