Franklin Correctional Institution opened in 2005 and has the capacity to house a maximum of 1,039 adult male offenders. The facility is comprised of six open bay dormitories and two secure housing units (A and B). A satellite facility Franklin Work Camp is temporarily closed.
Inmates are encouraged to participate in vocational and educational opportunities at Franklin Correctional. These include literacy courses, adult basic education courses, typing classes, the ability to earn a GED and earn a certification as a residential plumber helper.
