Holmes Correctional Institution has a capacity of 1,185 male offenders and can accommodate Close, Medium, Minimum, and Community custody inmates. The main unit contains eight housing units (A-H), two canteens, two open pavilions, a food service building with a dining hall, an academic building incorporating a library, a laundry facility, a vocational education center, a chapel, and housing for administrative and disciplinary confinement.
While incarcerated here, inmates can participate in vocational programs that include automotive repair and refinishing, as well as welding. Adult basic education and GED courses are also provided to inmates at Holmes.
Within the work camp's perimeter are six buildings, including food service facilities, a security and classification building, a recreational pavilion, two housing units (A-B), and a multi-purpose building.
