Ironwood State Prison is a minimum to medium security prison located in Blythe California, this facility jointly occupies land with Chuckawalla Valley State Prison. The maximum capacity of this facility is approximately 4,400 inmates. Ironwood State Prison is comprised of four sub-facilities (A, B, C, and D), each with five buildings that contain housing units, a chapel, canteen, laundry, and educational programs.
Vocational opportunities exist in masonry, plumbing, auto mechanics/body repair, welding, building maintenance, and carpentry. Inmate can also participate in rehabilitation programs like the life's too short youth diversion program, alternatives to violence, Siddha yoga meditation, meditation Buddhist pathways, great dads, and many more programs. Offenders can also earn a GED while incarcerated at Ironwood.
