Liberty Correctional Institution is a level four-security prison that has the capacity to house 1,330 adult male offenders. The main unit at Liberty Correctional Institution is divided into three sections. The east section houses the recreation facility and a building for wellness education. The center section comprises eleven buildings, including open bay housing units, a two-story "T Dorm" for secure cell housing, inmate canteens, a barbershop, a Captain's office, and additional inmate canteens. The west section includes nine buildings, the Chapel, Food Services, Health Services, Classification, Administrative Confinement, Education, Vocational Education, Laundry, Security/Control building, and PRIDE.
The dormitories at Liberty Correctional Institution, labeled A, B, C, D, E, and H, are single-story buildings with dormitory-style beds for inmates with close, medium, or minimum custody levels. These inmates are assigned jobs within the facility and only leave for specific appointments or transfers. Dormitory I is a two-story "T Dorm" layout with one dayroom per wing, housing inmates with various custody levels. Two wings are for inmates on confinement status, while one wing is for general population inmates. Dormitory Y is a single-story building with segregation cells for special confinement inmates, including those on Disciplinary Confinement, Administrative Confinement, and those requiring protection.
Inmates are provided vocational programs that include culinary arts (located in the Quincy Annex), waste water treatment technology, welding and masonry (all provided in the main unit).
