Martin Correctional Institution is a level six-security facility situated on approximately forty-six acres. The capacity of Martin CI is 1,324 adult male inmates.
The facility is comprised of six secure cell-housing units, canteens, a barbershop, and security offices. One of the housing units is specifically designated for Administrative Confinement / Disciplinary Confinement inmates. The compound also features a recreation yard with a pavilion, physical fitness area, and spaces for team sports. The dormitories within the facility are arranged according to varying custody levels and are assigned jobs within the compound. Inmates typically do not leave the facility unless for specific reasons like appointments, court appearances, or transfers. Dormitory D, known as a "T Dorm," houses special confinement inmates and features a unique layout with secure cell housing.
Vocational programs at Martin Correctional Institution include an alternative energy program, electrical wiring, HVAC, masonry, heavy equipment operator, and the NCCER core safety course.
