Okeechobee Correctional Institution is a level six security prison that houses up to 1,632 adult male offenders. The facility is comprised of nine housing units known as dormitories. Five of the dorms at this facility are T-dorms with double occupancy cells, two are open bay dormitories, one is a confinement unit with double occupancy cells, and a medical unit with isolation cells.
Okeechobee Correctional provides offenders with academic programs that provide an inmate opportunities to earn a GED and learn various life skills that include anger and stress management, marriage and parenting, and pre-release counseling.
