Description of Facility

Saguaro is a privately run prison under a contract with CoreCivic. It is the only out of state facility that houses inmates for Idaho and is located in Eloy Arizona. Currently, Saguaro Correctional Center can house over 2,000 inmates of minimum, medium and maximum custody levels. The facility is comprised of four general population housing housing units, with three pods in each. H unit is a high security unit, N unit is for restrictive housing including inmates in the incentivized SHIP program.

Saguaro has a rated capacity of 1,926 offenders of minimum, medium and maximum custody levels.

What you can send an inmate

 Inmate's incarcerated in Idaho are allowed to correspond with friends and family through the mail.

Always include your full name and return address on the envelope.

Inmates may receive the following:

  • Letters
  • New or used soft cover books from a list of approved vendors
  • New magazines and newspapers
  • Greeting cards up to 8"x10" (must not be padded, laminated, musical, or multi-layered)
  • Up to twenty 5"x8" or smaller photos (layered photos such as Polaroid are prohibited)
  • Photocopies/computer printed documents but the inmate is limited as to the number in their possession
  • Cashiers checks, money orders, refund checks from vendors, US Treasury checks can be sent to the inmate for deposit into their trust account

All mail sent to an inmate must adhere to the following:

  • Inmate's Full Name
  • Inmate Identification Number
  • Inmate mailing address
  • The full name and address of the sender
  • Must be in a legal or letter sized white envelope

Orders from Amazon are not allowed

Inmate are allowed care package orders through Access Securepak.  This is a third party vendor contracted with the Idaho DOC.  Restrictions may apply, so contact your inmate before you place an order to ensure eligibility.

How Inmate Calls Work

Inmates in Idaho have access to telephones to make outgoing calls.  The phone service provider for Idaho inmates is ICS Solutions.  You can purchase phone call time by visiting the ICS Solutions website.  All calls are recorded.  You can also setup an account by calling 888-506-8407.

How to send money to an inmate

   Inmates Saguaro Correctional Center can use funds from their trust account to purchase an assortment of items from the commissary including telephone time, food, clothing, and hygiene items.  Saguaro Correctional Center allows you to send money to an inmate through a variety of methods, but you will need to know the inmate's full name and Commissary number.
Send money to Saguaro Correctional Center inmates the following ways:

  • Online:  Send online through Western Union
  • Telephone: By calling 1-800-634-3422 using a debit or credit card.
  • By Mail: Send a Money Order or Cashier's Check via the mail.

How to do an Inmate Search

 Search for an inmate incarcerated in Idaho to obtain sentencing information, the inmate's identification number, and current location.

Visiting Information/FAQs

In order to visit an inmate at Saguaro Correctional Center you must first be on the inmate's approved visitation list.  The inmate is responsible for submitting a list with the full name, address, phone number, SSN, and DOB of up to ten visitors.  The inmate is given a signed copy of their approved visitation list within 2-4 weeks, at which time it is their responsibility to inform you of your visiting status.

  • New inmates must be classified before you can submit a visitors application.  During the reception and diagnostic process inmates are not allowed visitors. 

Once approved, you can visit.  If you are traveling over 300 miles you should have the inmate submit a request 15 days prior to the visit to enable you to have an extended visit, which is longer then the normal allowed visiting time.

All vehicles on correctional grounds are subject to random vehicle searches.

All visitors are searched before entering into visitation.

Dress Code and Visiting Rules

  • No sleeveless garments
  • No bare midriffs
  • No scrubs
  • No shorts, cutoffs, miniskirts, hats, caps, bandanas, doo-rags
  • No spandex clothing
  • No see-through clothing
  • No low cut clothing
  • No multi-layer clothing (includes coats, and sweatshirts)
  • Undergarments are required (panties, slips, bras, boxers/briefs)
  • No halter tops, or bra-less attire
  • No food or drink from outside the facility
  • Visitors 16 and up must have a valid government issued photo Identification
  • You may not exchange any items with an inmate
  • No drugs, tobacco, weapons are allowed, you will be searched sometimes by canine
  • No sunglasses
  • No cell phones, beepers, laptops, or other electronics
  • No clothing that contains profanity, or be symbolic of drugs or gangs, sexual symbols, or contain offensive or threatening language/images are prohibited

You are allowed to bring the following:

  • photo ID
  • paper money can be used to purchase a smart card debit system to use in the vending machines (there is a fee of $1.25 per card, cards expire after 6 months)  You cannot bring cash with you into the visiting area.  Items purchased must be consumed or disposed of in the visitation area.
  • your vehicle key
  • diapers and wipes are provided by the facility if you are traveling with a baby
