Description of Facility
South Boise Women's Correctional Center, situated in Kuna Idaho, is a mixed custody prison that houses up to 309 female offenders. The facility is comprised of two housing units. It acts as both a treatment and transitioning center. Minimum security offenders who are close to their release date can receive pre-release counseling, which is a 40-60 hour program designed to help prepare the inmate for successful reintegration with society. Additional programs include beyond trauma, stress management, mindfulness, building healthy relationships, and grief/loss counseling.

Inmates in Idaho can use funds from their trust account to purchase an assortment of items from the commissary including telephone time, food, clothing, and hygiene items. Idaho Department of Corrections allows you to send money to an inmate through a variety of methods, but you will need to know the inmate's full name and ID number.
In order to visit an inmate in Idaho you must first be on the inmate's approved visitation list. In order to get on the visitation list you must complete a background check and submit a visitors application to the institution the inmate is incarcerated in.
