Staton correctional facility is a maximum to medium security prison for males in Alabama. It houses about 1335 inmates and provides emergency medical treatment and observation for many of the surrounding facilities. It is a relatively safe institution with low incidence of violence.
GED classes, college classes and many vocational skills are taught to inmates including auto body and mechanic skills. The facility also offers horticultural programs, substance abuse treatment programs and programs to improve literacy.
This facility places a strong focus on rehabilitation through acquiring skills and counseling/substance abuse treatment services.

Visiting days at Staton Correctional Facility are Saturday and Sunday 8am-11am and again at 12pm-3pm. This facility uses a rotating schedule so the inmate will alternate in the time he is allowed visitation. Because of this you will need to contact the institution using the inmates first and last name to obtain the current day and time they allow visitation. Or you can ask the inmate the next time you talk to them on the phone or mail.
