Sumter Correctional Institution, which opened in 1965, is a minimum and medium custody prison located in Bushnell Florida that houses up to 1,551 adult and youthful male offenders. Sumter Correctional Institution contains the satellite facility Sumter Work Camp, which houses inmates of lower custody levels who help provide a labor force for various internal operations of the facility.

Vocational programs include horticulture, landscaping, administrative office assistant, and as an energy technician.
