Suwannee Correctional Institution opened in 2009 and is comprised of three separate facilities, the Main Unit, the Suwannee Correctional Institution Annex, and the SCI Work Camp (temporarily closed). The main compound contains eight housing dormitories, five of which are closed door close supervision, three are open dormitory style. Each of these eight dormitories are split into two housing units.
The capacity of Suwannee Correctional Institution is 1,418 adult male inmates. Vocational studies include greenhouse management, and landscaping/turf management.
