Visiting Information/FAQs

All visitors must have an approved visitors application on file before they can visit.

To visit you must first fill out and submit a Connecticut Inmate visitors application here.  The inmate should request this application from their assigned counselor who will then forward the application to the prospective visitor.  A copy of a valid government issued ID must be submitted with the application.  Return the completed signed application to your inmate at the facility they are incarcerated in.

The application process can take several weeks and it is up to the inmate to inform you of your visiting status (denied or approved).  Wardens can permit, at their discretion, a special courtesy visit during this period, but not during the first 72 hours of incarceration.

In-person visits at York Correctional Institution do not need an appointment.  Video visits must be scheduled.
Once your visitors application is approved you can schedule an appointment to visit online here.

Visiting Hours for York Correctional Institution:
Visits rotate on an odd/even schedule according to the inmate's DOC ending number.

View the current visitation schedule here.

Inmates are allowed two visits (in-person or video) Monday-Friday and a single in person or video visit on the weekend.

Video visitation is also provided to inmates incarcerated in Connecticut, but you must be on the inmate's approved visitation list and must schedule your video visitation using the scheduling portal above.

Bring a valid government issued photo ID in order to enter into visitation.
You may bring a single debit or credit card to use in the vending machine.
